2004 Presentation Print of the Print Club of Rochester

Charles Hewitt is a native of Maine, studied at the New York Studio School, and with the artist Philip Guston. Living in New York City, Charles works with a broad range of materials and of his oeuvre includes paintings, prints, drawings, and sculpture in wood, metal and clay.

"I have always loved reading seafaring tales like Moby Dick, short stories by Truman Capote and poetry. My paintings include my new thoughts as well as memories of my life growing up with seven brothers and sisters along the Maine seacoast." --C.H.
