"Schneebaum, the recipient of 2 Yaddo fellowships and 2 Fulbright fellowships, and student of Rufino Tamayo is best known for his disappearance into the depths of the Peruvian Amazon. He emerged from the jungle after a year, naked and covered in body paint, having lived and loved with a tribe of cannibals.
