The portfolio "Ten from Leo Castelli" was created to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Leo Castelli Gallery in New York.

The idea of being inside a picture and moving within it and through it fascinated Rosenquist. "Sketch for Forest Ranger" is a miniature version of the concept that was fully realized in 1967 with the floor to ceiling, multi-planed, fringe-like "Forest Ranger," which was exhibited in Venice and Paris.
