"Perhaps the most vital ‘museum’ in New York is the subway. It offers the artist and art lover an endless flow of fascinating faces and forms – it has kept my sketch pen racing and recording for years."
Included among Garchik’s diverse images of subway riders are the abbreviations for New York subway lines – IND (Independent Subway), IRT (Interborough Rapid Transit), and BMT (Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit).
