Ron Netsky is Professor of Art at Nazareth College in Pittsford, where he teaches printmaking. He also teaches printmaking at the Woodstock School of Art and writes about artists, musicians, and authors for a variety of publications.
Over the past decade his work has focused on the interplay between the organization and chaos found in nature, using lithography, etching, and Netsky’s own cardigraph technique.
Cardigraph is a intaglio technique that is created by using a utility knife to draw (cut) into laminated cardboard, which is peeled away in layers. The cardboard plate is then inked and printed in the manner of etching, where the ink remaining in the cut lines is transferred to the paper during the printing press process.
