Children around the world have played with toy horses for centuries. Egyptian children in the fifth century, Viking children in the eleventh century, and American children today enjoy riding toy horses and pulling them along on wheels.

This horse, with its horsehair tail, glass eyes, and leather seat, originally might have been created to move on a wheeled platform.
