Robert Goff was a gifted amateur printmaker and painter who retired from the military to devote himself to his art. He specialized in topographical scenes in England and Europe. This drypoint depicts Charing Cross Bridge on London’s Thames River, a subject that Monet also pursued in his London series paintings.
